Fixed Term Contract - 2 Years

Purpose

To be a key member of legal team providing legal and governance assistance to head office and UK operating assets, as well as ad hoc compliance and regulatory support.

Job Summary

  • Assisting commercial, operational and procurement teams with day-to-day legal and regulatory compliance issues including but not limited to:
    - contract interpretation
    - regulatory advice
    - negotiation

  • Drafting and negotiation of documents including:
    - supply contracts
    - technical service contracts
    - confidentiality agreements
    - various agreements to support intra-group activities

  • Supporting with management of the governance framework for the group, including
    - drafting and updating legal policies and procedures; and
    - working with the Regulatory Compliance Manager to provide support to other functions in relation to their policies and procedures

  • Support of office functions including but not limited to:
    - Accounting and Treasury
    - Commercial and Trading
    - Human Resources
    - Development

  • Supporting new project development and M&A activity as required

  • Working with project team and UK and global senior management to deliver corporate and regional initiatives

  • Providing support for insurance renewals, interpretation and claims

  • Supporting corporate secretarial services, including drafting board and shareholder resolutions, and managing the external company secretarial provider

  • Instructing and working alongside external counsel as required.

Skills / Experience / Education

  • Law degree from an accredited law school.
  • Certificate/License as appropriate to practice in the United Kingdom
  • Comfortable working in a lean structure that is highly customer focused
  • Suited to an entrepreneurial, fast paced, value-driven corporate culture
  • Self-directed, with the ability to effectively prioritise workloads
  • Able to work as part of a cross-functional team, and to build relationships with the relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills and strong commercial awareness
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills, and flexible in delivering advice and output in the manner required by the legal team and/or other stakeholders

  • Occasional travel may be required to fulfil job requirements
